We have a new child protection training and background check partner called Ministry Safe. The South GA Conference of the GMC, of which The Ridge is a member church, has contracted with Ministry Safe to provide online training to our church staff and volunteers for free and background checks at a discounted price. Part of our commitment to keeping children in our care safe and to protecting our volunteers and church assets is to have current training and background checks that meet or exceed legally defined standards of care. For those familiar with the Safe Sanctuaries program, Ministry Safe is very similar and will offer streamlined trainings and background checks. All Ridge staff and volunteers will receive an email with links to trainings and background checks at some point over the summer. The costs of the trainings are covered by the South GA Conference and the costs of the background checks are covered annually within the church budget.
