Donald Taylor

We are pretty new to Columbus and have been searching for a church home. We recently bought a house and while at our realtor’s office, we noticed The Ridge’s office. Donald looked it up and immediately got excited about checking out the church.

Our one-year-old kept getting sick and prevented us from making it to church for a few weeks. So, we opted to watch the service online. Once we were able to attend in person, we were welcomed by friendly faces, felt very comfortable putting Baby Clara in the nursery, and felt God’s presence in worship.

We immediately jumped right in! We joined a Journey Group, Jess went on the Women’s Retreat, and we took the Church 101 class. After only a few weeks, we felt God tell us that The Ridge was our new church home.

We are so excited to be a part of this wonderful family of faith!

First, let me start by saying that I met Jimmy and Shannon McIlrath many years ago when their girls attended Eagle Ridge Elementary.  Around that time, I heard that there was going to be a new church called The Ridge.

A good friend then approached my daughter with an invitation to attend The Ridge.  She said how great it was!  So, my daughter decided to “try it out”.  After her visit, she was so excited that she immediately called me and told me that The Ridge felt like home.

The next Sunday I decided to also “try it out” and all I can say is “WOW.”  She was so right!  It did feel like home, from the first person who greeted us at the door to everyone in the lobby who welcomed us as new visitors.

My husband has had some health issues recently, and it is amazing to me how many people ask about him. There are random calls to check on him and even a church friend who came to the hospital to bring us a snack bag. I have told so many and wish I could shout it from the rooftops, “If you’re looking for a church home, we will welcome you with open arms.”

The Ridge is a church where the music is amazing, a church where the sermons are always great, but most of all it is a church where you will feel the abundant love of Jesus Christ. The Ridge is our home and we are so grateful!

After looking for somewhere to connect, I found The Ridge a few years ago. I have loved the children’s programming and worship service.

In May of 2018, my husband and the father of my two girls passed away. In the blink of an eye, I had an entire church family rally around me and my family, some I had never even met. Their prayers and kindness carried me through the most difficult time in my life.

The Ridge has helped me grow in my faith and become closer to God.  I was recently baptized and joined the church. I could not ask for a better place to start this new phase of my life than The Ridge!

My husband and I just recently moved to Columbus. Over the past few months, we have tried a few churches and could not find the right church that we felt connected to. "Church shopping" was getting a little frustrating.

Then one afternoon my coworker walked up to me holding a pen. She said, "I know you are new, and I go to this church. I love it! Here is a pen with the name on it." We started talking and right away, I could tell this church could be a great fit for us! I told her how thankful I was that she shared with me. She later told me she felt like she needed to give me that pen that day.

The next Sunday we went to The Ridge and really enjoyed the service! We have been going for a couple of months now and have joined Joe and Cathy Wiegand’s Journey Group and love it!

We are so excited to get to know more people and be a part of the Ridge family!
