Ruth 3
Trusting God in the Waiting

"Wait, my daughter, until you learn how the matter turns out, for the man will not rest but will settle the matter today." — Ruth 3:18 (ESV)
Waiting is one of the hardest parts of following God. We often want immediate answers, quick solutions, and clear direction. Yet throughout Scripture, God frequently does some of His greatest work in the waiting.
In Ruth 3, Ruth courageously steps out in faith, following Naomi's wise counsel. She approaches Boaz, not with manipulation or selfish ambition, but with humility and trust. Boaz responds with honor and integrity, promising to do what is right. Then comes the difficult part...waiting.
Naomi tells Ruth, "Wait, my daughter..." Before Ruth can experience redemption, she must trust that God is already at work behind the scenes.
How often do we find ourselves in that same place? We pray, we obey, and then we wait. Waiting can feel unproductive, but God is never inactive. While we wait, He is arranging circumstances, preparing hearts, and working in ways we cannot yet see.
The beautiful truth of Ruth 3 is that our hope is not found in our ability to control the outcome. Our hope is found in the character of our Redeemer. Boaz points us to Jesus Christ—the true Redeemer who never abandons His people and always accomplishes His purposes in His perfect timing.

If you're waiting today, for healing, a job, reconciliation, guidance, or simply the next step, remember that God has not forgotten you. The silence of waiting is not the absence of God. Often, it is where He is preparing His greatest work.
Keep trusting. Keep obeying. Keep praying. The God who was faithful to Ruth is still faithful today.
Prayer:
Father, help me to trust You when I cannot see what You're doing. Give me patience while I wait and confidence that You are working for my good and Your glory. Teach me to rest in Your timing, knowing You are a faithful Redeemer who never fails. In Jesus' name, Amen.
