The Cost of Love
"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." -John 15:13
As Easter approaches, our attention slowly shifts toward the cross.
The cross reminds us that love is not merely a feeling; it is a sacrifice.
Jesus did not simply teach about love.
He demonstrated it in the most profound way imaginable.
He chose humility over status.
He chose obedience over comfort.
He chose sacrifice over self-preservation.
And He did it for us.
The cross reveals both the seriousness of sin and the depth of God’s love. Our brokenness required redemption, and Jesus willingly gave Himself so we could be restored.
But the cross also invites us into a life shaped by sacrificial love.
Following Jesus means:
-
Loving others when it is difficult
-
Serving when it is inconvenient
-
Forgiving when it feels impossible
The closer we move toward Easter, the more clearly we see that the cross was not the end of the story, but it was the price of redemption.
