Grow

Scripture: “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” — 2 Peter 3:18

Growth is one of those words that sounds inspiringbut when you really sit with it, you realize how demanding it can be. Growth takes time. Growth takes intention. And more often than we’d like to admit, growth takes discomfort. Yet Scripture doesn’t present growth as optional for the believer. Peter doesn’t say, “If you feel ready, grow,” but simply, “Grow.” Not just in knowledge, but in grace , becoming more like Jesus in how we love, forgive, listen, and live.

What’s important to remember is that spiritual growth isn’t about comparison. It’s not about growing faster than someone else or reaching some imagined finish line. Growth is about faithfulnessshowing up daily, placing yourself before God, and allowing Him to shape you over time. Just like a tree doesn’t strain to grow but draws nourishment from its roots, our growth flows from staying connected to Christ through Scripture, prayer, worship, and community. When we commit to growing, God commits to forming us.

Reflection:
Where is God inviting you to grow right nowin faith, in trust, in obedience, or in love for others? What simple step could you take this week to place yourself more intentionally in God’s presence?

Prayer:
Lord, help me to grow in Your grace and truth. Give me patience with the process and courage to lean into the places where You are shaping me. Root my life deeply in You, that my growth might honor You and bless others. Amen.

Live by faith, be known by love, and serve as a voice of hope for others.
